Soma makala nyingine mbili hapa

Asalam aleykum,

Moja ya mambo nayopendelea kufanya pindi muda unaporuhusu ni kuangalia runinga.Lakini naweza kusema kwa kujiamini kabisa kwamba mahaba yangu kwa runinga yamekuwa ni sawa na mithili ya kuingia darasani kwani ni nadra kwangu kupitisha siku nzima pasipo kujifunza kitu kipya kwenye runinga.Hiyo haimaanishi kwamba kila kipindi nachoangalia kina jambo jipya au la maana,bali najitahidi kuwa makini katika uchaguzi wa kile nachoangalia.Halafu nimejenga desturi ya kuangalia runinga huku laptop yangu ikiwa pembeni.Hiyo huwa inanirahisishia kufanya “reference” ya kitu nachokiona kwenye runinga lakini pengine hakijafafanuliwa vizuri.Inapotokea hivyo basi huwa naingiza neno husika kwenye mtambo wa kusaka habari kwenye mtandao ujulikanao kama “Google” au nakimbilia kwenye tovuti nyingine maarufu kwa maelezo ya watu na vitu ijulikanayo kama “Wikipedia”.

Kitu kimoja nilichojifunza kuhusu vipindi vya televisheni hapa Uingereza ni namna mashindano ya kupata watazamaji yalivyo juu.Kutokana na mashindano hayo,vituo vya televisheni hujitahidi kuja na ubunifu wa kila namna,wa maana na wa kipuuzi.Na miongoni mwa ubunifu huo ni hivi vipindi vinavyojulikana kama “reality tv” ambavyo kwa tafsiri isiyo rasmi ni vipindi vinavyoonyesha maisha katika uhalisi wake.Sintoingia kwa undani sana kuelezea maana ya vipindi vya namna hiyo kwani nilishawahi kuviongelea katika makala yangu moja huko nyuma.Ila kwa kukumbushia tu,katika makala hiyo nilizungumzia mbinde iliyojitokeza kwenye kipindi cha “celebrity big brother”,yaani “Big Brother” kama hiyo aloshinda Richard lakini wahusika wake wanakuwa “watu wenye majina” (celebrities).Hiyo ni “version” (aina) tofauti ya “Big Brother” ya kawaida ambayo kwa mwaka huu iliweka historia ya kupata mshindi Mweusi,Brian,Mwingereza mwenye asili ya Nigeria.Katika “Celebrity Big Brother” iliyopita kulizuka migogoro wa ubaguzi wa rangi dhidi ya stta wa filamu za Kihindi,Shilpa Shetty,ambapo washiriki watatu wakiongozwa na mshindi wa zamani wa “Big Brother” (ya kawaida) Jade Goody,walitoa matamshi kadhaa yaliyoashiria ubaguzi wa rangi.Zilipigwa kelele nyingi sana na nusura mashindano hayo yavunjike kabla ya muda wake,lakini yalifanikiwa kumalizika salama ambapo Shilpa aliibuka mshindi.Sokomoko hilo lilifika hadi bungeni na wakati flani Gordon Brown (Waziri Mkuu wa sasa) akiwa ziarani nchini India alilazimika “kuwaomba radhi” Wahindi kwamba yaliyomkuta Shilpa katika jumba la “Big Brother” sio taswira halisi ya jamii ya Waingereza.

Sokomoko la ubaguzi wa rangi katika kipindi hicho lilipelekea baadhi ya watu kuhoji umuhimu wa vipindi vya namna hiyo na faida yake kwa jamii.Lakini pia lilizua swali moja la msingi,je panapojitokeza vipindi vya kipuuzi namna hiyo wa kulaumiwa ni nani?Waandaaji au watazamaji?Kwamba kama waandaaji watakuwa makini basi ni dhahiri hakutakuwa na upuuzi katika vipindi wanavyoandaa.Lakini pia iwapo kipindi kitaonekana cha kipuuzi basi watazamaji wanaweza kukisusia hivyo kuwalazimisha waandaaji kukirekebisha au kukiondoa kabisa hewani.Ikumbukwe kwamba kwa nchi za Magharibi,vyombo vya habari vinahangaika sana kupata “ratings” nzuri,yaani idadi kubwa ya watazamaji au wasomaji.Wapo wanaodhani kuwa “ratings” zimekuwa zikichochea sana vyombo vya habari kukurupuka na habari zenye utata au za kusababisha mgongano kwani sote twafahamu kuwa “mbwa kung’ata mtu sio habari lakini mtu kung’ata mbwa ni zaidi ya habari”.Yaani kwa kifupi,utata “unalipa sana” kwenye habari.

Nije kwenye “Big Brother” ya akina Richard.Binafsi sikuwa nafuatilia kwa karibu japo ilipokuwa inaelekea ukiongoni nilijikuta natamani Mtanzania mwenzetu Richard ashinde.Lakini tukiwa wakweli na waadilifu,tunaweza kweli kujibu kwa uhakika nini cha msingi tulichojifunza kutokana na mashindano hayo?Hivi kuna lolote la maana la kujifunza pale mshiriki mmoja anapolewa chakari na kuishia kufanya tendo la ndoa huku anafahamu bayana kuwa kamera zinarekodi tukio hilo laivu?Naamini kuna wenzangu wengi tu ambao “Big Brother” kwao ina umuhimu mdogo kuliko hata vichekesho vya kikundi cha “Ze Comedy” ambavyo kwa kiasi flani vinafikisha ujumbe muhimu katika namna ya kuvunja mbavu.Sina tatizo na ushindi wa Richard,ila tatizo langu ni mantiki nzima ya “Big Brother”.

Lakini kama nilivyosema awali kuwa “mtu akimng’ata mbwa inakuwa zaidi ya habari”.Pengine laiti “Big Brother” ikiondoa “manjonjo” ya ngono za hadharani na uchafu mwingine inaweza kupoteza umaarufu na si ajabu ikafutiliwa mbali baada ya muda mfupi.Nadhani vimbwanga vinavofanyika kwenye jumba hilo vinachangia sana kuongeza umaarufu wa kipindi hicho.Kwa bahati mbaya,vimbwanga hivyo havina umuhimu wowote,sio kwa washiriki pekee bali hata kwa watazamaji.Pia nadhani ngono ndani ya jumba la “Big Brother” inaweza kufunua unafiki wa namna flani wa wenye majukumu ya kulinda maadili ya jamii yetu.Nilisoma mahala flani habari kwamba video ya wimbo “Simama Tucheze” wa Q-Chief imepigwa stop kuonyeshwa katika vituo vya runinga kwa vile imejaa vitendo vya ngono.Japo siungi mkono video zenye kuonyesha vitendo vya ngono lakini kinachonifanya niwatolee mimacho “askari wetu wa maadili” ni namna wanavyoweza kufumbia macho matendo ya ngono kwenye jumba la “Big Brother” lakini wanadiriki kumkalia kooni Q-Chief.Na si hapo tu,kama msomaji mpendwa utakuwa msikilizaji wa vipindi vya miziki (hususan vile vya mchana) nadhani utakuwa umeshasikia baadhi ya tungo za muziki wa kufokafoka (hasa wa Marekani) ambazo “hazijachujwa” na hivyo kujumuisha maneno yasiyofaa katika maadili ya jamii yetu.Kwa kawaida na kwa kuzingatia ujumbe uliomo,nyimbo za kufokafoka hutolewa katika “versions” mbalimbali lakini nazozungumzia hapa ni “radio version” (ambapo “maneno machafu” huwa yamefutwa,yamehaririwa-edited-au yameminywa) na “dirty version” (ambapo kila neno linasikika bila kujali “makali” yake).Inawezekana watangazaji wanaopiga “dirty versions” radioni huwa hawajui kinachoongelewa katika nyimbo hizo au wanajua lakini hawajali kwa vile “askari wa maadili” hawana muda wa kufuatilia.

Kabla ya kuandika makala hii nilisoma Sera ya Taifa ya Utamaduni ambayo inaharamisha waziwazi burudani zinazoendana kinyume na maadili ya jamii yetu.Lakini nadhani ufuatiliaji ni mdogo kwani hata video za baadhi ya nyimbo za wakongomani (Wazaire) ni “chafu” mno kuzionyesha kwenye runinga.Na kama unadhani hiyo ni ndogo basi nenda kajionee “ubunifu” wa bendi zetu katika suala zima la unenguaji.Amin nakuambia,namna baadhi ya wanenguaji wanavyocheza ni mithili ya kuangalia filamu ya “X”.Ukilogwa kwenda na mama mkwe kwenye shughuli kama hizo basi unaweza kujikuta unamtaka radhi kwa namna wanenguaji “wanavyojituma”.

“Askari wa maadili” wanakabiliwa na changamoto nyingine kubwa ya kudhibiti watazamaji wenye umri mdogo kwenye shughuli “za watu wazima”.Kwa hapa Uingereza,ili kijana aweze kuingia kwenye ukumbi wa disko ni lazima awe na kitambulisho kinachoonyesha kuwa umri wake unamruhusu kuingia humo.Na hilo ni hata kwenye kununua pombe na sigara.Sheria iko wazi na inasomeka kwenye kila duka kwamba ili mteja anayeonekana kuwa na umri mdogo aweze kuuziwa bidhaa anapaswa kuthibitisha umri wake.Lakini kwa huko nyumbani ni suala la kawaida kumwona mtoto mdogo kabisa akiwa na “michupa kadhaa ya bia” akielekea grosari au baa kwenda kununua bia.Hivi lile zoezi la kuanzisha vitambulisho vya taifa limefikia wapi?Je vitambulisho hivyo vitaonyesha umri wa mwenye kitambulisho?Nadhani mpango huo utakapokamilika basi inaweza kuwa rahisi kwa “askari wa maadili” kuanza kudhibiti watoto na vijana wenye umri mdogo wasiruhusiwe kuingia sehemu zinazoweza “kuwazibua akili” au kuwabana kununua bidhaa kama bia au sigara.

Pengine kabla sijamalizia makala hii utakuwa unajiuliza tangu lini jeshi la polisi limekuwa na kitengo cha “askari wa maadili”.Well, “askari wa maadili” ni pamoja na mamlaka zinahusika na kuhakikisha maadili ya jamii hayavunjwi,kuupuuzwa au kupindwa.Wahusika wengine ni wazazi,kaka,dada,mabaunsa wanaoruhusu watu kuingia disko,wauza maduka na baa,bila kusahau mimi na wewe.
